Economists Association 2010 invites all interested parties to visit the Ghent University Professor Marc de Vos lecture "2011: A World in Transition on May 18 at 14:30 in Latvian University (Raina Boulevard 19) Great Hall.
With the 2007 crash of Wall Street and the ensuing crises, the world has entered a period of major transformation. Marc De Vos reflects on the evolution of capitalism, the role of economics, the changes in globalization, and the rise of the East. He offers revelatory insights, identifies emerging global trends and draws a stark picture of a world in unsettling transition.
Marc De Vos is a professor at Ghent University Law School and the director of the Itinera Institute, a non-partisan policy institute in Brussels. He is the author, most recently, of After the Meltdown: the future of capitalism and globalization in the Age of the Twin Crises (2010).
